GLM awarded ISO 9001/2008Read more...
Global Logistics Management has just been awarded ISO 9001/2008 certification. ISO 9001 is a standard for quality management and successful application means that a company has proved that the way it runs its business is of the highest standard.
Speaking after the presentation of the certificate by QMS International, Mark Bonner, GLM's Operations Director said;
"We are immensely proud to achieve ISO 9001 status. The approval process itself was relatively straightforward as most of the business practices we have used for some time meant that we were close to being an ISO rated company anyway.
Having the certificate is the icing on the cake and is another step forward in our growth"

GLM ships record freight to ChinaRead more...
This years Sinopec Grand Prix of China has surpassed the record volume of freight shipped by Global Logistics to a single event.
With product required for Mclaren Marketing, Kangaroo TV, Hilton and Santander, GLM staff were involved in planning and executing the logistics for the freight to Shanghai starting in August this year.
The freight consisted of 15 tonnes of air freight and 3 x 40' cargo containers of hospitality equipment, hand held TV's, F1 show cars, simulators and marketing displays and back drops. Both air and sea freight services were called into action with some items, not needed at other races, being despatched by sea in late August.
An added complication to the process was that most of the items GLM handled were used at the Japanese Grand Prix just a week before the China race. As the freight could not be taken from the Fuji circuit until late on the Sunday evening and was required for set up in China 2 days later some careful planning, scheduling and negotiation took place to ensure there was adequate space on the limited flights available from Tokyo to Shanghai Pudong.
All the freight got there on time and the GLM crew now have one more race to go to in Brazil before their next break.

GLM implement new supply chain softwareRead more...
Global Logistics Management, the specialist logistics provider to the marketing services industry, has recently installed a new supply chain software.
Boxtop is (www.boxtop.co.uk) a freight management software system that enables online tracking and reporting of time sensitive goods.
“As a lot of our business is bespoke projects rather than shipping boxes, we needed a management system that could reflect that and also be adaptable" said Mark Bonner, GLM's Operations Director.
He added, "We've done some parallel running and testing earlier this year and have been really impressed with how the new system has coped. Ours isn't a straight forward business and it's good to have something like this we can rely on."

GLM on track for the new F1 seasonRead more...
GLM are ready to go for this years F1 season with the first race in Melbourne only days away. Already more than 15 tonnes of marketing equipment is on its way by sea freight and more is expected to go via air freight shortly.
Mark Bonner, Operations Director, said; "This is a normal start to an F1 season as a lot of the marketing materials we ship are having new sponsors branding applied and a couple of things are late coming into us. We're ahead though on the bulk of the Paddock Club freight as we managed to get that shipped by sea in late January"
As well as the late arrival of some new items GLM have also to deal with the changing F1 schedule. With Brazil moving to the back of the calendar and more back to back races the pressure has increased on F1 teams and their logistics suppliers.
