BOLD Announces Rebrand and Strategic Shift to Deliver Energy Platforms for Mission-Critical Applications, Expands U.S. Manufacturing

BOLD today announced a major rebranding and strategic evolution, positioning the company as a leading provider of energy platforms for mission-critical applications.

From Formula 1 to the battlefield, BOLD designs, manufactures, and operates high-performance energy systems engineered for the most demanding environments on earth.

The company is transitioning from a component-focused supplier to a fully integrated platform company, delivering:

  • High-performance battery systems (hardware)
  • Advanced energy management software
  • AI-powered mission planning, optimization and predictive capabilities

This integrated approach enables defense and advanced mobility customers to deploy scalable, intelligent, and resilient electrification solutions.

Expansion in North America

As part of its strategic growth, BOLD announced the expansion of BOLD North America, including a new manufacturing and operations facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan, focused on defense programs.

A dedicated U.S.-based team is already in place, ensuring that manufacturing operations can begin as early as Q4 2026, fully aligned with Department of Defense production requirements.

$25 Million in New Contracts Awarded

BOLD also announced the award of $25 million USD in new business across defense and motorsports programs. These contracts will be fulfilled through the company’s U.S. manufacturing operations.

Strong Forward Pipeline

The company expects to secure an additional $50 million USD in defense and advanced mobility contracts over the next 12 months, further strengthening its position in the U.S. market.

Positioned for Leadership in Defense Electrification

BOLD is positioning itself to become a category leader in defense electrification, a market projected to reach $35 billion by 2033, driven by the increasing need for electrified platforms, directed energy systems, and next-generation mobility solutions.

Bernat Carreras, Founder & CEO, mentioned:

“Currently the battlefield is limited by electric power. BOLD is building the company that will remove that constraint. We are creating the energy operating system for defense: one common platform of hardware & software that will power the next generation of military vehicles and energy systems, built in Europe and the US.”
