The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the global governing body for motor sport and the federation for mobility organisations worldwide, has today confirmed that Jakarta will host the inaugural FIA Rallycross World Cup from 5th– 6th December 2026, marking a major breakthrough for the sport and the discipline’s first expansion into Southeast Asia.

The announcement brings one of motor sport’s most intense racing formats to a brand-new region, reinforcing the FIA’s ambition to grow rallycross by reaching new audiences and delivering world-class events in emerging motor sport markets. The FIA Rallycross World Cup will showcase the discipline’s signature wheel-to-wheel action in a spectacular standalone event, attracting leading drivers from around the world to battle for victory on the global stage.

In the top-class drivers will compete in Euro RX1 internal combustion-powered machinery, with the event following rallycross’ classic sporting format in a spectacular one-off event, designed for both trackside fans and global broadcast audiences.

The event will be hosted at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit, located in the Ancol district of North Jakarta, where the venue will undergo a full rallycross transformation incorporating a mixed-surface layout designed to deliver a spectacular challenge for drivers and the close, door-to-door racing that defines the discipline. Indonesia offers a dynamic setting for Rallycross, with a passionate fanbase, strong motor sport culture and a rapidly evolving sports and entertainment landscape.

The 2026 FIA Rallycross World Cup will place fan engagement at its core, with every effort focused on making the event as accessible and engaging as possible for audiences around the world. While the event is designed to deliver a spectacular live experience in Indonesia, fans unable to attend in person will be able to follow all the action live and free on the official FIA Rallycross YouTube channel.

The FIA Rallycross World Cup will be delivered in partnership with SARGA.CO, a leading Indonesian 360° sports and entertainment ecosystem company operating across intellectual property, media rights, technology, strategic solutions and live event experiences. Together, the FIA and SARGA.CO aim to establish a new benchmark for motorsport experiences in the region, combining world-class sporting competition with strong local engagement and international collaboration.

The introduction of the FIA Rallycross World Cup marks an important step in the continued development of rallycross, bringing the discipline to a new region and creating fresh opportunities to connect with fans, partners and competitors across the globe.

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said: “Across our FIA Championships, World Cup events have proven their ability to deliver accessible, standalone competitions with strong global appeal. The new FIA Rallycross World Cup will provide fans with a unique opportunity to experience the discipline on the world stage in 2026, bringing together leading drivers from regions around the world.

While rallycross has its historic heartland in Europe, this debut competition in Indonesia opens the door to greater participation and strengthens the discipline’s global footprint. This is an important step forward for the sport’s continued growth. The future of rallycross is bright.
