Lola Yamaha ABT secures first podium in its fifth race at the Miami E-Prix
Lola Yamaha ABT claimed its first podium in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship with Lucas di Grassi finishing in second place at the Miami E-Prix.
In qualifying, the team made the duels for the first time following a strong lap time from di Grassi, meaning he started from seventh on the grid. An effective race strategy combined with good pace and skilful energy management meant he crossed the line in fifth, however after a red flag disrupted many teams’ Attack Mode strategies, he claimed P2 and 18 points for Lola Yamaha ABT.
The new team’s first points came in only its fifth race, after a period of testing and development in the two-month race gap after Jeddah.
Zane Maloney also showed promising pace and energy management but a penalty due to incorrectly rejoining the track after missing the chicane meant he ultimately finished in 19th.
