15 Jun MIA Member Team Jota Recieves DHL Sustainability Award
Cadillac Racing has been named a winner of the DHL Sustainable Endurance Award 2026 in the Hypercar category, an award presented on the sidelines of the 24 Hours of Le Mans by the FIA, the ACO and logistics partner DHL. The award recognizes a sustainable development program deemed among the most comprehensive and structured submitted this year.
The jury particularly commended the team’s efforts to reduce the carbon footprint of its operations. The share of maritime freight in the transport of Cadillac WTR equipment has thus increased from 70% in 2025 to 90% in 2026. American personnel travel from Paris to Le Mans by train, while JOTA, the team’s British partner, prioritizes road transport. Storage and equipment supply are now handled in Europe whenever possible.
On the hospitality side, Cadillac Racing reused its existing hospitality structure, installed energy meters to establish a 2026 baseline, and adopted LED lighting. Measures were also implemented to limit the use of air conditioning.
The catering program has also made measurable progress: the average carbon impact per meal has decreased from 7,13 kg CO2e in 2024 to 6,49 kg CO2e in 2026, thanks to a revision of menus, a reduction in beef, more plant-based options, local sourcing and donations of surplus food to Restos du Cœur.
The team also undertook an ambitious initiative against single-use plastics: five BWT water stations, distribution of 1,000 reusable water bottles to fans, and the elimination of disposable plastics in the hospitality area. In total, approximately 4,000 plastic bottles were avoided, representing an estimated saving of 114,8 kg of plastic and 319,3 kg of CO2.
Beyond environmental performance, the jury valued the structure’s societal commitment, in particular its support for women in motorsport and STEAM programs, as well as a project carried out with the Gaston Bachelard school in Le Mans.
“A team effort”
Keely Bosn accepted the trophy on behalf of the team. What makes this award special is that it celebrates the work that takes place behind the scenes. Endurance is about on-track performance, but it’s also about continuous improvement in everything we do, including our commitment to the environment and the community. »
