11 Aug Research Supports Face-to-Face Meetings as a Key Business Driver for 2027
CEO of the Motorsport Industry Association, Chris Aylett, has shared the following interesting research findings and information:
In an increasingly digital business landscape, the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) and our members are witnessing the increasing popularity and value of face-to-face meetings.
Recent research from ACCOR, a global leader in hospitality, concluded that whilst digital tools, like video and phone conferencing, are useful for human connection, in-person interaction is significantly more effective in driving performance and business success.
Of 9,000 international professionals, 85% said prioritising face-to-face meetings had significantly boosted their annual revenue by an average of 36% – confirming the genuine business benefit of face-to-face meetings and networking.
These professional business builders said that just one face-to-face meeting had the impact of three virtual meetings and also created deeper connections with more successful outcomes. Whilst digital tools do offer both convenience and global connectivity in the modern business environment, they cannot replicate the effectiveness of personal interaction.
The human touch of face-to-face interaction has proven to be an irreplaceable aspect of closing deals and building strong business relationships.
Business success involves people meeting people, which is central to any business growth strategy. Businesses that focus on in-person meetings will significantly boost revenues and close more deals. Creating more face-to-face meetings gives a distinct, competitive advantage in an ever-changing business landscape.
The MIA has seen this enthusiasm growing first-hand across the motorsport business community – particularly amongst those seeking new contacts and knowledge of new technologies.
Good quality, purposeful face-to-face connections has always underpinned the success and growth of MIA CTS26 – The Motorsport Engineering and Technology Show, which returns to the Silverstone Wing on 14-15 October. Exhibitor and delegate registration numbers are already far greater than last year.
The research from ACCOR does not only apply just to motorsport businesses and their supply chain, but, universally, across businesses including automotive, defence, aerospace and marine. All are increasingly drawn to the October MIA CTS26 Show in Motorsport Valley® UK, from all over the world, to see the very latest high-performance engineering and technology first-hand. It is a pleasure to watch people break into small groups and find a small table to continue face to face discussions on motorsport business matters.
With continued investment attracted by Formula One and growing momentum in the US and European motorsport markets , 2027 looks set to be another strong year for the industry. The conversations shaping that success will, as ever, mostly happen face to face.
