McLaren Racing joins the Motorsport Industry Association

27th May 2026 – The Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) is delighted to announce that McLaren Racing has officially joined the MIA Membership community.
Since McLaren started in 1963, their drivers have stood on the top step of the podium in the greatest races in history, from the Can-Am Series, to F1 Sim Racing, Formula E and Extreme E, Indy 500, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the Formula 1 World Championship, each taking up its own significant chapter of their history book.
Today McLaren competes in Formula 1, IndyCar, and esports. From 2027, McLaren will be also racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
McLaren is one of F1’s most successful motorsport Teams, of all time, known for both its engineering excellence and outstanding teamwork.
The MIA is the UK and world’s only motorsport trade body. Its fast-growing network of members includes Formula 1, World Endurance Championship (WEC), World Rally Championship (WRC), British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) Formula E and teams and suppliers, who design and manufacture cutting-edge technologies and products used around the entire motorsport world.
The MIA identified and represents the UK’s Motorsport Valley® community, centred in and around Silverstone, the home of the British Grand Prix. Recent research by Grant Thornton UK found that the annual revenues of UK motorsport companies in 2023 exceeded £16 billion and employed some 50,000 highly skilled individuals.
In 2025 McLaren Racing were the much-deserved winners of the MIA’s Business Excellence Award for the category Teamwork. This award nomination was put forward by the motorsport industry who recognised the incredible teamwork that had supported McLaren’s F1 success throughout 2025 race season.
Chris Aylett, Chief Executive of the MIA said:
“I am delighted to welcome McLaren Racing to the MIA’s unique membership community at an exciting time for this great team. With the experience of Zak Brown, wise team leadership from Andrea Stella and speed and consistency of their two drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, the McLaren Formula 1 Team certainly consolidated its international stature in 2025”.
Its dominant campaign, based on faultless teamwork, secured them their second consecutive Constructors’ Formula One World Championship in 2025. All on the MIA Team look forward to helping our new member’s continued success wherever we can.
